Mark Leuchtenberger, CEO of Targanta Therapeutics, has been named the next chair of the Mass Biotech Council. Mark has been the vice chair of MBC for two years while Mike Webb, CEO of Ascent Therapeutics, served as the chair. These two years were very eventful ones for MBC, and the organization was very well served by Mike and Mark. During this time, MBC hosted the International Bio Conference; lost its president, Tom Finneran; hired a new president, Bob Coughlin; and just helped get the $1B life sciences funding bill passed in the state legislature! While leading MBC through these major events, both Mike and Mark started new biotech companies and had to raise large sums of equity investment.
Mark Leuchtenberger and Mike Webb are both longtime members of CEO Roundtable. We are very proud of their accomplishments.
