Mercia Tapping, founder of AllergyBuyersClub.com, was featured in the business section of The Boston Globe Sunday edition (April 13) in an article on the benefits of small steam cleaners in the home. Mercia is shown using a small handheld steam cleaner in her kitchen. Steam cleaners for the home have become a best seller at www.AllergyBuyersClub.com, the e-commerce business Mercia started in her home about 10 years ago. Steam cleaners disinfect, kill allergens and clean without chemicals on all types of surfaces. They come in many sizes and a broad range of prices.
In March the Chicago Tribune ran a similar story on the effectiveness of steam cleaners in the home, which also featured Mercia. Several other newspapers picked up this AP story.
The Washington Post, in a long story on pillows, also featured Mercia's comments on the health dangers of old pillows (molds, fungus, mites, etc.) and the need for the right pillow for proper skeletal alignment.
Last year Mercia created a second business, Green and More, www.GreenandMore.com, to sell a broad range of eco-friendly products. She operates both companies as subsidiaries of Boston Green Goods.
Mercia Tapping has received numerous national and regional awards for her business success. She is a longtime member of CEO Roundtable.
